Doing well in school is one of the main focuses that Kappa Delta has for each of its sisters. We realize that without school, Kappa Delta would not exist and so, we push each of our members to constantly strive for the best in all of their classes.

In order to ensure that its members are excelling in their academics, our chapter has put an academic excellence program in place to help our members succeed. The program is available to each of its members and is a comprehensive plan put together and updated after each semester by our members themselves.

The scholarship chair meets with members after each semester to update the program so that it is a useful tool at all times. We realize that professors, classes and departments are continually changing and that the needs of our members are affected by this change.

We also stress that our new members are involved in this program. They attend weekly study nights, are provided with study buddies (sisters that share the same major), and are directed toward a tutoring program, either through the university, or with sisters who excel in certain areas.

Kappa Delta truly believes that each of its members has the ability to achieve greatness in the classroom and because of this we are also very active in rewarding those members that excel academically or who make great improvements. Each week members are recognized in our chapter meetings for doing well on papers and projects, are rewarded with small prizes for attending study nights and for helping other sisters with their classes.

Finally, Kappa Delta offers one of the best scholarship programs out of every National Panhellenic sorority. Each year, National KD offers more than $110,000 in scholarships, money that has been raised through our extensive alumnae base, outside donations and individual chapter donations.

The Gamma Iota chapter has been fortunate to claim several of its members scholarship recipients in the past few years. Our advisory board is always willing to write letters of recommendation for any of our members, and help out those members that are looking for internships in their areas of study.

We truly believe that by pushing each other and helping one another to achieve our highest level of accomplishment in academics we are not only furthering the organization, but enriching our lives as well.
