Part of what makes Kappa Delta such a great organization is the tremendous leaders that carry the chapter along the way! Each of our members takes on a leadership role within the chapter, either by being on the Chapter Council or holding an appointed position. Each of these women is expected to participate in planning successful programs, and helping their fellow sisters out with other chapter activities.
Leadership has given many of our women the opportunity to perfect skills they already had or to experience something new. Many of our ladies are give the opportunity to plan large scale events, work with community service groups, other sororities and fraternities, university officials and members of the community.
Members can hold a position ranging anywhere from social chair, to philanthropy chair, to treasurer or even president!
Chapter members are also expected to participate in other outside activities. Each member is part of a club, committee or athletic team. Our members are programming advisors in the residence halls, peer advisors, Associated Student committee members, and members of honor fraternities as well.
We are also proud to say that two of our members were initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, a National Honor Society. These two ladies were the ONLY Greek affiliated students to be inducted into this very prestigious organization!
We also have members who hold office on the Panhellenic Council, are members of Order of Omega (a Greek honor society), and members of the Omega Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, newly chartering at SJSU!
Our members are continually breaking new ground around SJSU, holding positions in a variety of organizations and activities. These ladies have been recognized by university officials, other Greek organizations and members of the community. We even have a member who was given the A.S. 55 Leadership Award this past spring, an award given to the 55 most influential and involved students on SJSU's campus.
We are proud that our members are dedicating so many hours to not only helping KD excel, but are dedicating many hours of hard work and dedication to furthering the goals of other groups to continually enrich themselves, KD and the university.
